Chlorine dioxide gas is very effective at controlling spoiling of food due to microbial growth at levels as low as .01 ppm.
In an independent research study at Purdue University funded by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, ClO2 gas-treated products showed insignificant changes in surface color, minimal and acceptable residues (<mg/kg) of oxidative species, and extended shelf-life. The results strongly demonstrate that ClO2 gas sanitizing treatment is a promising alternative to improve the safety and quality of most fruits and vegetables.
Initial Installation and Cooler Pack Use Instructions
STEP 1
Thoroughly clean and sanitize environment according to manufacturer directions, company protocol, and state regulations.
STEP 2
Remove sachet from foil pouch and place into clamshell container or holder.
STEP 3
Set product in central location (avoid placing directly in front of fan or ductwork).
STEP 4
And don’t forget to replace CleanIce Cooler Pack every 30 days.
